after the recent couch upgrade, compliments to my lovely gill, the original rug had to go. I’m fine with a fully naked floor but an area rug beneath the couch does add a layer of coziness. right now i love natural fibre rugs for their simple design and hardiness. our mud room open up right to the living room and the previous carpet would be visibly dirty within a day of vacuuming.
we stayed in a beautifully west-coast styled condo in tofino last weekend that had a seagrass rug over hardwood floors that gave a lovely outdoorsy, coastal feel. sisal, seagrass, jute or a blend though? i was researching the differences in materials before writing this, but Lauren Liess of PUREStyleHOME breaks down the differences in her post better than I could hope too!
pros and cons list aside though, these west elm jute bouclé rugs are exactly what i’m looking for, in terms of simplistic design.
